Avinash
I will ask you a very simple problem. Subtract 2 from 23 two times. What do you finally get?

Avinash
I'll wait for some more answers before telling the right answer.
Guest guest
The answer is 44. 23 two times is 46. Subtract 2 from 46 and you get 44.
Avinash
When I wrote "two times", then I was using it for the complete operation. In other words, perform the operation of subtracting 2 from 23. Do this operation not once but two times.

I'lll bet you folks wouldn't think it so much fun if I started posting grammar quizzes! /images/graemlins/wink.gif Besides, I'm peeved because you got it first. /images/graemlins/frown.gif BTW--what did livingentity win, dear Avinash, besides accolades and envy? Avinash
Let livingentity prepare acceptance speech first. PS: The guest who gave the answer as 44 is also a good lateral thinker.
Guest guest
Avinash: When I wrote "two times", then I was using it for the complete operation. In other words, perform the operation of subtracting 2 from 23. Do this operation not once but two times. That's how I got 19, tho. If you subtract 2 from 23 twice, after the first subtraction of 2 from 23, you get 21, then when you subtract 2 the second time (now 2 from that 21) you get 19. livingentity
The puzzle is you substract 2 from 23 - get the answer - 21. Then you do the same steps again - substract 2 from 23 = 21. You do the same problem two separate times.
