Guest guest
If Sanatana Dharma and the Vedic scriptures are the most confidential of knowledge, why doesn't the empowered representatives of Krsna...i.e. Jesus Christ, Mohammed, Buddha teach according to the Vedas? Why is there this round about way of approaching God?

gHari
I guess they all do teach from the Vedas; certainly they teach according to the desire of Sri Krsna. The various dharmas in the Vedas designed to gradually elevate one from animal life to pure consciousness are fit for various peoples at various stages of their development of God consciousness. A fitness instructor will give different instructions to his students depending on their current level of fitness. The dangerously overweight person may be advised to cut out one cake a day and walk at least five minutes. Some more fit may be encouraged to swim for an hour. Others in good shape will be instructed to eat only oatmeal and soya powder, while doing two hours of weight training and aerobic activities. It is all fitness, but the ones addicted to eating two cakes a day cannot manage to run the marathon, and those in top shape will benefit little by walking five minutes a day. Perhaps those just out of the animal kingdom find it especially difficult to overcome their taste for blood. Jesus told a rich man, "Leave all your things and come follow me". The poor rich man could not leave his family and possessions. So these attachments we have chain us down, cement us to the world of pavement and cement. Thankfully there is a dharma for every state of chained attachment to this world. Hari, the great thief, can steal away our attachments that hold us in bondage. gHari
