PN Prasad
TIRUPATI: The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam (TTD) has held discussions on Wednesday with the Godrej company for installing a bullet-proof glass around the Tirumala temple. TTD's chief security officer E Damodar said he had suggested to the Godrej company to develop a new concept to install bullet-proof booths resembling the Mahagopuram and Ananda Vimanam without affecting the ambience or causing inconvenience to the pilgrims. The temple administration, following the Akshardham incident, has taken several steps to tighten the security at the hill shrine.
theist
Having to protect holy places with bullet proof glass. Is there a more sure sign that we are in kali-yuga. This may have even convinced Sri Yuktesvar. Hare Krsna

Guest guest
On the one hand it may show a lack of faith in Krsna being able to take care of Himself or letting fate decide. On the other hand, it could be a demonstration of love. Is it really necessary? Wonder what Prabhupada would say? Guess Guest
theist
was the guru of Paramahansa Yogananda. He made a big issue of how we are not yet really in kali-yuga. If I remeber right he consider us in Dvapara-yuga Mayavadi, however I was told Prabhupada said he was a beautiful person. I also heard that he didn't make it out of the universe as he became attracted to some planet on his way out after death. Not sure of the accuracy of those statements. theist
Prabhupada wanted armed security at the temples. New Vrndavan was attacked by thugs with shotguns. And the incident at Mayapur. People here can recall those events. Some were probably there at the time. The thing is its our duty to protect Krsna. He may be God but the thugs will have to go through us to get to Him. PN Prasad
It's our duty to protect Krishna. The Lord is so beautiful in Tirumala Hills. We need to protect Him. (The Lord also knows how to protect Himself). I think it's time the temple management thinks about more stringent measures to protect our Lord. Till now, we can practically see that how Lord protects Dharma on this planet. When India (supposed to be following all the Vedic principles) left all those Vedic practices, Prabhupada was born and he carried Bhakti-Devi to the western countries. Now, the science of going back to the Lord is available throughout the world and on the Net too. How lucky we must be to have been born at this time! There will be many saints born in future to protect the Lord and His teachings. PN Prasad
