I_love_krishna_
do not know about. Not one way is right over the other. What a living guru and a dead guru is... will depend on the perspective by which we see. The perspective however depends on the amount of ignorance and the ignorance is inversely related to the amount of desire for krishna. Desire krishna , chant and be happy. "Our Guru" is no other than ourselves considering the deepest self is krishna. bhagavathudi svarupalu anantham... God has many forms and many ways. /images/graemlins/grin.gif
Guest guest
from a certain point of view you are right... a master, a teacher, a guru is alive,or better, "visible" in this world. he's available to ask questions and to receive answers given considering WHO'S ASKING, the TIME, the PLACE, and the CIRCUMSTANCE so, for the current meaning of GURU, srila Narayana Maharaja, after his disappearance, will be visible also by disciples who, trascendental to this world, will be able to act in the plane of existence where maharaja will be for the others, NarayanaMaharaja will be the guru who have inspired other gurus, but, technically speaking, he will be more properly in the cathegory of tradition (sadhu) and, with his writings, scriptures (shastra) the same with srila prabhupada He's guru because he was inspiring others to be gurus... but now He's now available only with the shastra he has written and the tradition he represents the iskcon style to say that Prabhupada is siksa guru is the sign of the future success of the theory of "Post Samadhi Initiation" now siksa.... in a few time.. diksa i may be wrong, but "crystallize" the instructions of acharyas and negating their capacity to change their strategies in different place, time and circumstance is actually killing the principle of the spiritual master if prabhupada were here in 2003, his preaching strategies, instructions, regulations, precepts could have been completely different making Him a legend, a totem, an icon, a brand, a stamp, a ticket , a myth will not help us to adore Him properly and to understand the right way to call him forever our jagad guru
