AncientMariner
Chanting Hare Krishna does affect the weather. At first I thought it was my imagination but now I am certain of it.

gHari
We need to do penances to get rain and grain. It is auspicious if it rains at night and is sunny during the day. Then there will be lots of grain. When we chant it is like doing penances to all the demigods at once, since they will all be pleased as we please Sri Krsna. So, to this extent we can say that sastra supports the idea of japa controlling the weather. Otherwise, it may well be hasty induction, based on too few instances, drawing too quick a conclusion. Then of course, it is more likely to be humour from the Sargasso Sea.
