Guest guest
Here are two "Prabhupada Saids" that I heard on first visiting Mayapur in 1976 and now seek confirmation of. 1) Kali-yuga will become so bad that people will eat their own children, so don't come back: get serious and go back to Godhead in this life. (I believe this is from a lecture but can't now locate it). 2) A devotee asked Srila Prabhupada, "We are distributing books all day every day, constantly talking to nondevotees and taking their association; how then will we be able to remember Krishna at the time of death and go back to Godhead?" To which Srila Prabhupada (purportedly) replied, "If you distribute my books throughout your life then if at the time of death you cannot think of Krishna, Lord Caitanya will forcibly enter your mind and personally bring you back to Godhead." theist
here is one that could be taken that way although I see it as possibly saying something diiferent as well. We have to remember these are transcripts of Prabhupada talking so we must factor in what I affectionately call *Prabhupada speak*. Best to hear them as well as read. From SB lecture on 1.3.14 sept 9 1972 So the idea is that there is no food problem. As the mother earth said to King Påthu that “I am restricting,” so the more you become sinful, the food supply will be stopped. This is the law of nature. At the end there will be no foodgrains, at the end of Kali-yuga. That is stated in the Çrémad-Bhägavatam. There will be no foodgrain, no fruits, no milk, no sugar. You have to live on flesh and blood. At that time, being hungry, you will kill your own children and eat flesh and blood. That day is waiting. So this is the civilization. Most heinous civilization. It can only be saved by spreading this Kåñëa consciousness movement. Otherwise there is no way.
livingentity
But I also remember reading this somewhere. It might have been in one of the biographies because I can not find it in the folio. I will continue searching however. 1) Kali-yuga will become so bad that people will eat their own children, so don't come back: get serious and go back to Godhead in this life. theist
Now, still, in your country you are not poverty-stricken. You have got enough food. These things also will be stopped. Now you have got food in chaos, but there will be no food also. Then the mother and father will eat his own children. This is world, this Kali-yuga, everything. livingentity
Very, very abominable condition in this age of Kali. Very, very. It is the beginning of Kali. Now we have to pass through 427,000's of years. Kali-yuga will make progress in that way. And people are now practicing eating their children, and at the end of Kali there will be no food available. They'll have to eat the children just like the snakes do. The snake eat their own children. There are many animals-they eat their own children. So don't try to repeat your birth again and again in this Kali-yuga. It will be not very happy life. Better sacrifice everything in this life and be fully Krishna conscious and go back to home, back to Godhead. Don't wait for the next life. This is very seriously repeated, that "This life I shall finish my Krishna consciousness business," and, as it is stated in the Bhagavad-gita, that Krishna consciousness business means to understand Krishna rightly. And He's explaining Himself rightly. Where is the difficulty to finish the Krishna consciousness business? If Krishna is explaining Himself, what He is, then where is your difficulty? Krishna is explaining Himself in the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna is sending His representative acarya to teach you, and Krishna is within yourself trying to teach you if you are actually serious. Then where is the difficulty? Inside, outside, always, books, knowledge-He is prepared. So where is the difficulty to make yourself perfect in Krishna consciousness? There is no difficulty at all. Provided you are serious, you can become fully Krishna conscious in this very life. You are all young men. You are not old man like me. I have no opportunity. REF. livingentity
I want to though because I remember reading something similar to this also. Something about if a devotee can not remember Krsna at the time of departure then Krsna will remember him. Please do not quote me on this as my memory is quite faulty. 2) A devotee asked Srila Prabhupada, "We are distributing books all day every day, constantly talking to nondevotees and taking their association; how then will we be able to remember Krishna at the time of death and go back to Godhead?" Guest guest
For your advice. I'll try to be more personal as "god das "perhaps. : all this cut and paste gets boring after a while. : need to dig deeper into the depths of my soul in order to come up to your mark. You definetly have a strong resonant writers' voice who calls out for everyone else to also make their contribution in the forums.
