Kulapavana
LOL Prabhu, I found that amusing as well ... the 'Guru is God' argument. It's a dangerous mentality and Srila Prabhupada was very strict in dealing with those that claimed he (Prabhupada) might be god. We really don't need another Swami Narayan kind of tradition. He was not just strict with these deviants. He was FURIOUS! There he was, fighting to establish that anyone who says he is god is actually a dog, and his own disciples misunderstand such a basic tenet of Vaishnavism and proclaim their guru to be God... in India, "my guru was god" traditions are dime a dozen. Prabhupada most definitely would not want his movement to turn into one of such bogus cults.
Guest guest
Agreed. Especially in South India, the god-guru's are numerous. The difference being that almost all of these Gurus proclaim themselves God! Their glory is short lived though. They disappear as fast as they appear. He was not just strict with these deviants.
