Guest guest
World Vegetarian Day From Jaya Tirtha Charan dasa Posted September 19, 2003 All glories to Srila Prabhupada! World Vegetarian Day: 1st October 2003 World Vegetarian Awareness Month: October World Vegetarian Day has been observed since 1977, bringing together vegetarians from all over the world for a common cause. It brings awareness to the ethical, environmental, health, and humanitarian benefits of a vegetarian lifestyle. We're observing growing trends, especially since foot-and-mouth and mad cow diseases, but about one million people a year become vegetarians in the United States alone and millions in Europe and Australasia too. Wherever you find any group trying to promote this noble cause, please give your support. Contact your local temple or community and find out how you can get involved this year or what they are doing to help make the world aware of this event or how they are utilizing that facility. If you have a web-site please mention World Vegetarian Day October 1st and World Vegetarian Awareness Month of October http://www.hknet.org.nz/veg18.html For more information on vegetarianism and beyond: http://turn.to/Vegetarianism
