Govindaram
When does this realisation come? Why is it we see so many guru's yet we do not accept them? What is the reason for this? ps.this is not intended to be a Guru 'fall down' thread ...so mind your business please! It is a sincere question. Haribol! theist
I no longer look at accepting a guru as a particular event like "on Jan. 1, 1999 I accepted a guru." At least for myself I now view acceptance as an ongoing process. I still have lingering hope that happiness can come through my various dreams and schemes within this material world. All sorts of plans are there in the sub or semi conscious portion of my mind. When I am honestly and fully materially exhausted then I will honestly and fully accept guru with a one way ticket in hand. No return ticket in the back of my mind. I am cultivating that though and feel happy that I am in the process of accepting guru. Trusting that the Lord will see me through my present state of delerium. Then I will have accepted guru. We all need to check our ticket to see if we purchased a one way to Krsna's lotus feet or a return trip by mistake. Here is a nice verse from Queen Kunti spoken to Lord Krsna. TRANSLATION SB 1.8.26 My Lord, Your Lordship can easily be approached, but only by those who are materially exhausted. One who is on the path of [material] progress, trying to improve himself with respectable parentage, great opulence, high education and bodily beauty, cannot approach You with sincere feeling. Kulapavana
when are you ready to take initiation? when you develop an intense desire to serve Krishna under the direction of this particular Vaishnava... when you are willing to follow his orders... and when you are humble enough to desire to wash his feet...
