Guest guest
The Hindu, Online edition of India's National Newspaper, Oct 06, 2003 NEW ORLEANS OCT. 5. An Indian-American finished first in an open primary to try to become Governor of Louisiana, where just over a decade ago many voters supported a former Ku Klux Klan leader. With 96 percent of the votes counted, Bobby Jindal had picked up 33 per cent of the vote, while Lt. Gov. Kathleen Blanco held off two fellow Democrats in a close battle for second. The two will face off in a November 15 runoff, and the winner will become the next Governor.
