theist
I like this. Not that I feel the need to try and celebrate everything myself but it can expand our understanding of how others are trying to approach God. So can someone explain what the below refers to please? December 4 Maunajiyaras - JAINISM
yasodanandana
a holiday is without doubt better than go to job!! JAYA ALL!! (sarira abidya-jal, jodendriya tahe kal!!)
Guest guest
Isn't mauna a vow of silence? Perhaps they remain silent for that day, or perhaps in commemoration of a saint who remained silent. Also, does Holiday come from Holy day? Just the y turned into an i to create one word? Kind of makes sense to me, but I'm just speculating.
theist
Yeah I have read it described as a day of fasting silenceand meditating on the five holy teachers. That is all i know so far.
Gauracandra
What is surprising is the growing acceptance of Wicca. Go to any bookstore and you will see shelf after shelf of new age garbage passing as spirituality.
theist
Yes, it seems made up religion is always more popular than the real thing in this world.
