Govindaram
Hare Krishna Our relationship with Lord Krishna is Eternal: Does this mean as Father/Mother/Friend etc, does the mentioned relationships change? as in the case of Brahmana Sudama, who due to a curse came as a demon, so in this case how is the particular relationship eternal? I do not understand. Can you help please.
Priitaa
I don't have any quotes on me at the moment, but I remember when I was a new bhaktin I was told our relationship can change, and it changes in the direction of an increase. Guest guest
Just like you are always the son or daughter of your parents but your actual relationship can change depending on various circumstances, in the same way we are eternally in the same relationship with God,but that can manifest in various ways. Just like as a child you relate to your parents differently then when you are an adult, still they are your parents, that doesn't change. So our actual relationship with God is fluid,it can change and is not set in stone for all time,God is an individual as you are, with that dynamic there is always potential for change. For those on the path of bhakti yoga becoming conscious of God and entering into a relationship is the goal, Our relationship with God changes as we change. First you may approach God in a humble way, with awe and worshipfullness and a servile mentality, that changes as you get closer to God. After that first stage the result is you have become educated , you know what God likes,What God desires from you,What God is in realtionship to the material world,in relation to your mind, in relation to everything. With that knowledge your relationship has not changed in essence, you are still essentially a dependent like a child to his parents, but you have grown up and your actual relationship has changed. then your attitude towards God is no longer servile or worshipfull, it is no longer based on trying to gain a position in relation to God, the "I do this to attain the desired benefit from this" relationship,it is a relationship based on the actual interaction between a liberated soul in full knowledge of God with God, which is categoricaly different then the previous realtionship which was distant and not based on interaction and full knowledge. So the basic relationship is eternal, but the actual interaction is fluid,it can change, the shastra is not always literal when describing rasa in eternity, rather it's purpose is not to provide you with knowledge of every single detail of everything, it's purpose is to give you the ability to directly interact with God,then all your questions can be answered. Govindaram
Hare Krishna, Thats just what i needed, thankyou. Now i know why i switch in my mind between thinking like: Krishna is my friend 1 moment, then father next, then Lord next. I really need to understand the above more, but nevertheless i do like the feelings (on material platform of-cource), i was also thinking that since Krishna is completly absolute, could this be a reason for the change of Rasa's? Guest guest
real rasa is not there until we have full knowledge of Krsna and ourselves, until then the "rasa "we have is of student, our rasa changes as we change, as we become more knowledgable more conscious of God in truth our relationship evolves from student to intimacy. It is not artifical but based on realization which means experience, if we mentally through an artifical process imagine ourselves to be closer to Krsna then we actually are that isn't rasa, that is Sadhana of some type based on attaining rasa. If we as you suggest sometimes concieve of Krsna in different ways that is not rasa that is a mental approach. Real rasa is reciprocal, when you are evolved to the extent necessary then Rasa becomes manifest, not artifically through a mental conception or attitude, Krsna is everywhere and can reveal His presence and relate to you at any time, all that is required is your ability to relate, that is natural and will not be an artificial imposition. Bhakti is the process of becoming conversant with God,God is not far away from us ,but with us, when we have fully understood God and ourselves then there is no reason for seperation between the two to continue,at that point we enter into the eternal rasa of intimacy,no need for waiting until the next life, the moment you are ready, reality becomes personal. Priitaa
Ditto to what L.E. said. I'd be happy with a lack of material suffering. That would be my material pleasure. lol
