ancient_paztriot
And if you want to become self-realized and transcend the material realm, you have to deal with that. You have to deal with your desires and your feelings of repulsion. You have to deal with happiness and distress. You have to deal uh your senses and their different desires. So Krsna says this is the field of activities specifically for the person that wants self-realization, that wants to understand what he or she actually is and what this world is and what is beyond this world. For that person, who is not dogmatic and blind, for that person this is a legitamate field within which that person has to deal in order to achieve their goal. So therefore, we have a different description of the body or the field… Body means we live in this body; we have to deal with it everyday. We work with this body. So it depends on what you want to do with this body. So we certainly couldn't say the modern scientific descriptions are more advanced; they have a different intention. And if we compare one intention which is simply to exploit this world for our selfish purposes, another intention being self-realization and to understand what is God, it would be difficult to say the first intention is advanced and the second primitive. Now that would be a little difficult to say.
