I have a Manoj Kumar Sardar & Bros. scale changer harmonium for sale. It is new basically. I have been told it is studio quality. It has a beautiful sound. I saw a price tag of 850.00 on one that was NOT a scale changer at Ali Albar school. I would like to have 450.00 for mine. I bought a more portable Harmonium and that is why I am wanting to sell. I do not have a picture at this time but could get one. I live near Fresno.

Hi,

Could someone please tell me what is a scale changer harmonium and how to use it? What exactly does scale change mean? I have a fixed scale I guess. I am a new learner and can only play in kaali chaar. How will the scale changer help me?

Thanks!

Continued with the previous message.

If I use scale changer can I use the same sequence of fingers to play with kaali chaar, as I would in kaali paach?

Sorry please pardon my ignorance. But I am considering buying one and any response will help.

Sorry about the late message. I sold the harmonium. Check Ali Akbar school on internet, located in Marin County Calif for info on various harmoniums. I recommend a good Bina for traveling musicians rather than a more easily damaged scale changer.

I sold the harmonium scale changer because of anxieties. People told me that it was too delicate, would not travel well, unnecessary for my talent level & I would have to re-tune it every time I moved it. So I bought a beautiful no-worry BINA DELUXE for 300.00 out the door at ALI AKBAR in Marin County, Ca. No fuss, no muss & its a lot lighter. Later when I can play magnificently & I live in one spot more than 3 mos. I may consider a scale changer. I needed a work-horse for now, not a delicate race horse. After all, it is a folk instrument, not a concert piano. Haribol!
