ancient_paztriot
Hridayananda… Prabhupada gave the example of the finger. The finger is valuable because it is part of your body. What if as they say, God forbid, somehow or other your finger was cut off… or it was just lying there in the street and there was no putting it back on. Someone grabs it and asks, "Hey, do you want to buy this back from me as a souvenier?" So what would you do with it? As long as the finger is connected, you'll pay ever last penny you got to save it, isn't it? People will just empty out their treasury to save a limb of their body. But once it's gone, it's cut, it's finnished, then it's not worth anything. In the same way, a part of a watch; it's valuable because it's part of the watch. But take a little spring out of a watch and it's useless, it has no value at all. In the same way, our whole value is our connection with God. God is absolute value. If we break that connection, we have no value.
