I read Madhva said that varna is determined by qualification and not by birth.Bannanje Goveindacharya also said the same thing in his articles.In recent controversy Pejawar Math swamiji said that while Madhwa was born into the varna system he said the one based on qualification was more important.He said a spiritual chandala is better than a woldly minded brahmin.He said that one must chose one's work based on swabhava , swadharma and context.He also said if there is shortgae of labour force may be used.

 

I think every society should consider practical aspects of life , irrespective of what our scriptures say.I am born in brahmin family but I have always interested in warfare and military and I don't see why I have to waste my time doing brahmins work.Plus we have to give importance to talent if society is to be successful , especially against foreign invasions.

 

If Shivaji had been performing his duties , we would still be slaves.

 

 

So please be practical in life.We have to encourage ppl with talent and enthusiasm.Chandragupta maurya was also a shudra.I am happy to note Indian ppl ahve been practial minded.We can post here and discuss the dvaita , advaita and v-advaita bcos one shivaji broke caste rules.
