gokulkr
How close we can have darshan at Srirangam ? I heard only iyengars & madhva brahmins are allowed to have a very close darshan of Lord Sri Ranganatha. I am a sourashtra brahmin. I am not a Iyengar or Madhva Brahmin. So how close will i be allowed to have a darshan of "Lord Sri Ranganatha" in Srirangam ? please tell. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Om Namah Shivaya /images/graemlins/smile.gif Om Namo Venkatesaya
Guest guest
I am not even Indian and I was allowed to stand right before Sri Ranganatha at Srirangam in 1985, with nothing between us as I recall, just a couple of metres apart. The darshan was nice but the young pujari on duty made some remarks about the Lord as if it was just a museum, 'Look', pointing at the Lord, 'There is white diamond!' I was unhappy about this. I think it is seemingly easy to get darshan. I also got darshan of many other Srimurtis in South India.
