Guest guest
If someone was travelling to India, how would they respect the Hindu's living there if they were not Hindu themself?
theist
Just remember you are in someone else's house. Be a polite guest. Don't criticize that which you may not understand. They have developed their own customs. There is also no need to try and imitate everything you see. Be the respectful observer. They know you as a guest will be unfamilar with their society and will cut you some slack. Maybe familarize yourself with some basic customs. Don't waer shoes inside especially at temples. Offer things with your right hand and accept things with your right hand. Smile and ask questions. They are a very warm people and love to share their philosphies (which are many and varied). Don't try to convert anyone if you are of a different faith, but you needn't be completely shy about your beliefs, just allow for respectful disagreement. I trust you have someone that will advise you on some things to be careful of also. Enjoy your trip.
sudhaya
Hare Krsna, Wonder around temples, but atually meet the devotees as well, meet those who are dear to KRSNA. And oh yes, don't eat any food from the street stalls, it will taste good, but thats just the stool of it.
