Guest guest
Haribol. While I agree that we are most unfortunate in this age of Kali, and that we have no qualifications, I object to the use of the word "sudra" in the original post. This has been a problem all along. Low-rung thinking, but sudra, being an actual part of Varna Ashrama Dharma, should never be criticized as an undesirable thing. A sudra is the legs of the entire VAD body. What good is a head (brahmin) if he is miserable because he is not mobilr because he lost his legs? What good is the stomack (vaisya) is the body cannot exercize because it has no legs? And what good are the arms (ksatriya) is the legs let us down and make us an easy target. This is a common mistake, but it is a mistake nevertheless. Sudras are fine people. Only the very best people I know are sudras, all the rest are outside VAD. So, out of respect to sudras, we should list the sudra heroes. The first is Vidura, the complete and total father of all Dharma, sanatana dharma and its virata rupa counterpart, varnasrama dharma, Lord Yamaraja. I am not certain, but I believe that Veda Vyasadeva is considered sudra by birth. Anyway, my point is that a sudra is not a synonym for a low born person like the candalas, mleccas, etc. But then we get into these folks, and find folks like Prahlada and Haridas Thakur in their numbers. So I guess we do the siksa-stakam, and realize that even the lowest is above where we are supposed to reside, beneath the straw in the street. Hare Krsna, all glories to sudras, for without them, we go nowhere. ys, mahaksadasa
Govindaram
I never knew all this. Nobody told me any different, its interesting to read, we are all sudras by birth, so its not right I understand, to use it as a bad word, compared to the other words I used.
