vanamali
OM VRISHABHASURA VIDHVAMSINE NAMAHA Vrishabhasura did puja daily for five thousand years to the Lord at Tirumala. Every day he would cut off his own head and offer it as a sacrifice to the Lord and every day out of mercy the Lord would cause his head to grow back again. Lord Venkateshwara Swamy was pleased with his austerity and and granted him a boon. Vrishabhasura, who in addition to being a demon was also a great Bhakta, wanted an opportunity to fight with the Lord, so that he might be killed by the Lord's own hands, thus attaining salvation. His request was granted and so the Lord became known as Vrishabhasurahari. Edukondalavada! Venkataramana! Govinda! Govinda!
