ancient_paztriot
Stonehearted? Anyone? The Bhagavatam has this topic subtitle… Earth Supplies Everyone His Food … directed at this verse… SB 4.18.26 The planet earth supplied everyone his respective food. During the time of King Prthu, the earth was fully under the control of the King. Thus all the inhabitants of the earth could get their food supply by creating various types of calves and putting their particular types of milk in various pots. Now we know the earth is Bhumi, a female in this example or story. Never in my life have I seen an instance where we switch genders. People, oceans, boats, anything, keeps it's gender. But my wife said this refering to the earth as "him" follows some literary etiquette. I want to change the topical subtitle to "her". Any help? ancient_paztriot
I see… said the blind man. /images/graemlins/smile.gif Quite obvious now that you mention it. Thank you both. (Seemed to me they were still hers in the act of giving them away).
Kulapavana
this word "his" refers to word "everyone" and not "Earth" you can say: Earth supplies everyone their food or Earth supplies food to everyone (I translated many of SP books into Polish)
