krsna
Chapter 18. Conclusion--The Perfection of Renunciation TEXT 75 vyasa-prasadac chrutavan etad guhyam aham param yogam yogesvarat krsnat saksat kathayatah svayam SYNONYMS vyasa-prasadat--by the mercy of Vyasadeva; srutavan--heard; etat--this; guhyam--confidential; aham--I; param--the supreme; yogam--mysticism; yoga-isvarat--from the master of all mysticism; krsnat--from Krsna; saksat--directly; kathayatah--speaking; svayam--personally. TRANSLATION By the mercy of Vyasa, I have heard these most confidential talks directly from the master of all mysticism, Krsna, who was speaking personally to Arjuna. PURPORT Vyasa was the spiritual master of Sanjaya, and Sanjaya admits that it was by his mercy that he could understand the Supreme Personality of Godhead. This means that one has to understand Krsna not directly but through the medium of the spiritual master. The spiritual master is the transparent medium, although it is true that the experience is direct. This is the mystery of the disciplic succession. When the spiritual master is bona fide, then one can hear Bhagavad-gita directly, as Arjuna heard it. /images/graemlins/cool.gif

That "direct" experience will generally not happen until one is fully able to accept the role of His Divine Grace so that any tendency to interpret it as due to their own efforts, etc. is totally absent. Krsna likes His mercy and grace to be seen as such absolutely so pride won't enter into it. We all enjoy seeing our gifts appreciated for what they are, freely given without any obligation, out of love and affection.
Guest guest
What is the direct experience of Krsna and the disciplic succession through the guru? That depends on Radha-Krsna. For me one particular deity was involved. Follow your heart and keep believing in miracles. For God all things are possible, while our own efforts never come with a guarantee of success.
