Vanguard
A non-devotee friend passed away recently. What can we do as aspiring Vaishnavas? Is there some kind of bhajan/archana ceremony to do for them? I've heard there is something to do, like offer Krsna prasad to their picture or something to this effect, but I never got the details, so I am posting here. Guest guest
Read Baghwat Gita chapter 11 with devotion and the soul of the person will be blessed to realise Lord in His next birth based on his Karma so far. If that person is blessed so much, he may even attain mukthi also but again based on Karma. BUt certainly for sure, reading 11th chapter thinking of Lord and praying to Lord for that soul who passed away from his body, will help that soul in realising that Baghwan. Pankaja_Dasa
Around his neck. {spare one}. Maybe console his parents with some Gita knowledge. Good chance to preach. Maybe they will listen. Soul never die. He'll get another fresh body or she. OR you could give Gita. Say its tradition. Its good to read when somebody departs. I would just make things up as I go along. As long as they read. They are in tune.
