Each page takes a half hour to digest. And then your life experiences will verify those lessons and teach you the meaning behind the words. Read and follow, and then observe. After six months of living in the Gita your life will be transformed. Your sincerity about life will increase. You will become a seeker of God. Sincerity is all we lack now. The Gita teaches sincerity. revealing how to become unscrewed from the everyday humdrum of worldly life. Our motivations become purified, no longer seeking glory in the flock or power in the flock or toys or sensual pleasure or intellectual titillation or all that jazz. Then we simply seek to be real - sitting on a planet spinning around in a group of planets moving in a huge galaxy of billions of stars among billions of other similar galaxies. That is the starting point. From there we go inward and then beyond the initial perceptions of the mundane body. Eventually we know of the eternal self beyond space and time. We engage in the satisfying pastimes our eternal self relishes and craves with every breath. Then we are truly happy; otherwise we experience only varying shades of unhappiness bound to a childish temporary world made of pavement and cement and sham where the illusion of happiness is simply like the hand feeling hot in warm water after being in cold water - just varying degrees of unhappiness.
