sumedh
Hare Krishna please accept my dandavat pranam Please could someone tell the procedure of installing Deities (of Sri Sri Radhe Krishna) at home. Guest guest
if you keep them at home.. no installation is required even if it is possible to do so.. but there's no house installation and temple installation... if you install you are like a temple in full standard so do not installate... but remember that any standard you start, you have to continue if you offer an incense every morning at 7.30, or a cake every saturday, an abhisheka in janmastami.. or whatever continuative standard you decide... you have to keep it or it is an offence.. so please start with very little... almost nothing or nothing.. only chant hare krishna before them
Guest guest
For the archa vigraha murtis to actually be "installed" or "established" requires the assistance of a pure Vaisnava. Such a qualified acarya will chant the prana pratishta mantras, after a suitable pancamrta (5 substances) abhiseka, new cloth and suitable bhoga offering have been done. When the qualified acararya chants the correct mantras for installation the ista deva (worshipable deity) who manifests in his heart will agree, by his invitation, to manifest in the murti's who will be then worshipped by a faithful disciple. That disciple should also be duly initiated in the chanting of the sampadya mantras, so he can correctly worship the Sri murtis according to the pancaratrika viddhi. There is some difference between the standards kept in mandiras, and at the homes of grhastas who establish deities in their homes. Home deity seva is generally kept more simple. But cooking and seva should still be done according to the same standards of cleanliness and timeliness, and the previous poster is correct, whatever standards you start should be maintained. Everything should be done under the anugatya (guidance) of a bona fide spiritual master. Of course uninstalled archa murtis can still be worshipped by a sincere practitioner, as a matter of practice, but it is not exactly the same thing as worshipping deities who have been established by a living qualified acarya. Guest guest
in the temple after pranpratishta the lord is ever present in the murti, making the murth nondifferent from the lord; however in the home he is invoked into it at time of worship by ringing of bell, conch blowing. However Saligrama shilas require no instillation as they are always nondifferent from the lord.
Guest guest
Please get Gaura-Nitai deities as they are mush more merciful and are much more forgiving of any offences we commit Radha-Krsna deities need such a HIGH standard of service that even Srila Prabhupada said that in temples no more should be installed outside India - better to have Gaura-Nitai so in home - Gaura nitai also is best there

Guest guest
Installation depends on the nature of the deities you wish to install and how formal you want to make installation ceremony. For example, deities to Radha and Krishna require extremly high standard and one must be careful not to commit offence. While a saligram murthi does not need an installation ceremony because Lord Narayana is said to exist within core of deity. Here are several things I thought you can observe or think about before you do the ceremony. [1] Direction It is said that Lord Krishna is the master of all directions, so it doesn't matter which direction he faces. While, some people like their deities to face east, with the rising sun. [2] Abhisek Method -Generally 5 items of worship -Very effective with purusa sukta audio, followed by pancha suktams. You should try to get someone to recite this, or download audio from : www.gauranga.org/audio_page.htm and play this, because pronunciation is crucial. -So while you play audio, you can chant hare krishna mahamantra. [3] Most crucial element = Kirtan Even if you do not wish to do a big installation ceremony, it is good if you do kirtan as much as possible, for the deity will reciprocate to this. Finally, I should also mention that it is good to also tell deity how you wish to worship him or them. e.g you will do 1 offering a day at 7pm or 3 times a day, etc. Best of luck
