Guest guest
Vaisnava saints aren't buried; rather their bodies are put in samadhi. This means their bodies are preserved, by adding sodium for instance, and a memorial is erected on top of their burial site. In this way, devotees can visit them, have "darshan," and reflect on their specific activities and greatness and offer obeisances to them even after they have left the world. Their bodies are considered sacred and sanctified by dint of their pure devotional service; that is why they are never burnt.
Guest guest
Was Prabhupada put in samadhi then? Or cremated?
theist
in Vrndavan. They have built a beautiful structure on the spot and hold services there several times a day and it is open so anyone can go and chant and reflect on this great soul's life and teachings.
