krsna
If your hands and legs are tightly knotted, how can you work? So these leaders do not know that they are under the control of the stringent laws of nature. Suppose there is a heavy earthquake. Suppose the Atlantic Ocean and Pacific Ocean mix together, and there is some suggestion like that by the scientists, how you can check it? You cannot check the laws of nature. Therefore, blind leaders who are so tightly packed up by the laws of nature, how can they lead? They cannot lead to the goal of life. The goal of life is God or Krsna, but they are enamored by the glittering of this material nature. So they cannot lead. Then what is the solution? If Krsna consciousness is not possible to cultivate by speculation, by assembly meeting, or by knowledge derived from higher authoritative sources, and the leaders are misleading, then how it is to be attained? How can the goal of life be attained? (Class by Srila Prabhupada 11/15/68 in LA) Persons who are strongly entrapped by the consciousness of enjoying material life, and who have therefore accepted as their leader or guru a similar blind man attached to external sense objects, cannot understand that the goal of life is to return home, back to Godhead, and engage in the service of Lord Vishnu. As blind men guided by another blind man miss the right path and fall into a ditch, materially attached men led by another materially attached man are bound by the ropes of fruitive labor, which are made of very strong cords, and they continue again and again in materialistic life, suffering the threefold miseries.
