Guest guest
Haribol, Is it true that according to Ramayana, the woman's only duty is to serve the husband even higher than service to the Lord? If so, how are we to apply that in this age of Kali? Please give guru and shastra to support suggestions. Thanks, Your Servant
Kulapavana
you should always inquire about the duties for yourself first, and try to understand their context (time, place and circumstances). in order to understand such scriptural injunctions one must have a broad understanding of the Vedic culture. In the karmic sense, woman's duty is to serve her husband, but she must also understand that if her husband is going to hell and she is merely helping him to get there faster, she will share the same destination. quoting verses is nice, but can't always be a substitute for intelligence and common sense.
