Guest guest
Sheep can recognise at least 50 flock mates: they are able to think about them when they are absent. Elephants mourn their dead, sometimes placing their bones in one spot. N’Kisi the parrot knows 1,000 words and creates grammatically correct phrases to communicate with humans. Lizards can sense pleasure, wood mice create “signposts” from sticks and stones to guide each other, pigs can use deceit to gain advantages… It sounds like they are doing better than some people we know. They tell me it's all happening at the ZOO I do believe it, I do believe it's true

theist
Even though i would want to agree with this, the important point is whether the "body" of Americans would reject the other thorn, and it is not Bush who is the thorn rather the policy of "national" interest. Every democracy will vote for someone they think will do the best for the national interest. That won't change. Even the town sheriff must act for the interest of the smallest of township if he is elected to do so. The debate is what constitutes national interest. That is all we can hope to influence. To rise above such designations in of course the necessity, but that is something each individual must change for themselves from within themselves. Guest guest
Well I'm here, http://www.indybay.org/calendar/event_display_detail.php?event_id=5277&day=29&month=11&year=2004 But I'm not feeling too enlivened, I have a different sanga. Is this where you spend your time? They have their finger on a few issues but not much nectar.

sumedh
Theistji: Every democracy will vote for someone they think will do the best for the national interest. That won't change. Even the town sheriff must act for the interest of the smallest of township if he is elected to do so. The debate is what constitutes national interest. That is all we can hope to influence. In the scenario of the nations theory, an acceptable policy in persuance of national interest would be one which does not infringe on the interests of other nations. The other countries can see the plain truth that the policy of US is to establish control over the world directly and indirectly. This has been the consistent and unchanging policy of the US. The terrorists are seen as short term miscreants, and (nearly) everyone supported the US action in Afghanistan; but the actions in Iraq are again seen as a part of its policy. The fact is that most countries see the US as the biggest bully and long term danger; you may call this a mistaken perception or whatever but there are unmistakable reasons for this. And the indians know this only too well; the muslims in their 800 year long occupation could only convert forcibly and through taxes about 10-15%, desecrated many temples, and some vedic texts were lost. However in less than 150yrs the British destroyed the culture to an unimaginable extent, a huge economic devastation, such a huge manipulation of the vedic texts and most of all the long breed of indians who hate the vedic culture or so called spiritualists who mock puranic texts. So they know what kind of damages the control of US can bring about. As for being able to influence the policy, it seems very unlikely and the other countries would only like to see one who does not aggressively pursue the long term policy of establishing control over all others.
