Guest guest Posted June 14, 2005 Report Share Posted June 14, 2005 waning Moons: If the shadowed part of the Moon (the darker, unlit side) is pointing in the direction of the Moon's travel (ie: East to West), then the Moon is waxing. If the shadowed part is pointing in the direction the Moon is coming from, then the Moon is waning. BTW, interesting trivia: The earliest Sunrise of the year occured this morning (at 5:21AM PDT).
