Guest guest Posted June 26, 2005 Report Share Posted June 26, 2005 what's wrong with me? i can't even tolerate small talk anymore....how's the weather, did you see the basketball game last night, etc. ..... then again, i avoid associating with devotees too. maybe i'm just anti-social...a hermit....to eventually die alone. We lose the taste for the small talk of this world. There is a verse in the Gita "When your mind has passed from the dense forest of delusion you will be indifferent to all that has been heard and all to be heard." I forget which chapter. There is no pleasure in such talk. Once we realize that and don't look for pleasure in such exchanges we will also not experience pain from them either. We will be indifferent.
