Tvam na sandarsito dhatra dastaram nistitirastam

Kalim satwaharam pansam karnadhara ibarnaram

We think that your goodness is met by us by the will of providence just to accept you as the captain of the ship which desires to cross over the difficult ocean of Kali which deteriorates all the good qualities of the human being.

All Glories Unto His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami

Oh thou spotless Merciful One

You have severed this knot I could not have undone

I was thinking that painful was actually fun

Wine woman and song that cold birth and death pace

Not to deny, but simply replace

All desires we have with the Highest of tastes

Under loving Direction of Your Divine Grace.

We are singing—Hare Krishna; Raising children—Hare Krishna; We are dancing—Krishna Krishna; always offering prayers—Hare Hare; We are cooking—Hare Rama; stringing garlands—Hare Rama; We are working—Rama Rama; That You’re pleasure is our care—Hare Hare.

Please accept this Life You have given me.

And some dont like these offerings because they think devotees were too imature. But this theme of Sriman Visnujnana came to play years later, in a vyasapuja offering I wrote in 1983, and I also offer this to our late godbrother, who took the time to deal with me about the same time he wrote this prayer:

Captain c.1983 mahaksadasa

In the middle of this ocean, I am shipwrecked in terror.

Both arms are broken, I am burning in the sun.

I see in the distance, I know You are coming,

But wave after wave, I am surely done.

Navigator, O Captain of the ship!

Please pick me up, carry me along.

Throw me the lifeline, I will wrap it around me.

Please pick me up, carry me along.

How did I get here, what caused this trouble?

Could it have been this craving in my heart?

Was I on the beach, did I fall from the sky?

Have I always been alone, where did it start?

Navigator, O Captain of the ship!

Please pick me up, carry me along.

Throw me the lifeline, I will wrap it around me.

Please pick me up, carry me along.

I know only wrong, I write cynical songs,

Yet You give me the lifeline though I am drowning alone.

You don't have a throng, yet You always help me along.

Navigator, Master, Your boat is so strong.

Navigator, O Captain of the ship!

Please pick me up, carry me along.

Throw me the lifeline, I will wrap it around me.

Please pick me up, carry me along.

  • 2 weeks later...

Here i am... once again...

trying to do... what i can...

to remember Krsna and my Spiritual Master

and this lifetime moves forward faster and faster.

Seems i created such obstacles by my desires,

it seems almost too late to put out the fires!

But i will hang on again just for today

and hoping "as way leads onto way"

that the path will get straighter, clearer, less dense

as i climb that hill and cross that fence

placed in the way, my own reactions

to lifetimes of illusory connections and factions.

I beg for mercy, and plead for strength

to do what is Right, to go any length,

to please the One, the Lord of my heart.

This journey i'm barely ready or willing to start!

But if not now... when? I want the answer...

yet nothing is lost in my tiny endeavor

to awaken from this very bad dream.

Will i ever jump into that stream

that flows up to the Spiritual Sky

and comes to rest, comes to lie

at the lotus feet of Sri Sri Radha Krsna,

where i will see my Spiritual Master

not as i experience this perfect Vaishnava here

with my imperfect eyes and imperfect ears

but in full knowledge, bliss and eternity.

i will then know pure service & Love... i will then be free.

Until that transformation takes place

i beg to remember to chant the Lord's Holy Names.

Hare Krsna Hare Krsna Krsna Krsna Hare Hare

Hare Rama Hare Rama Rama Rama Hare Hare
