Guest guest
Haribol! Excluding Indians, that is, because they make up a major bulk. How many non-Indian Vaishnavas, stats by prder of Muslims, Westerners, Chinese, Ex-communists etc. Just a general idea would do. Just making sure the world is moving in the right direction. Hare Krishna!
Kulapavana
How many Vaishnavas in the world? not nearly enough /images/graemlins/wink.gif
Bhakta Don Muntean
I prefer never to see them numbered. One day some despot demons may need to see how much cyclone gas to buy - how big a chamber will be needed? No - I see no good reason to number the devotees. Guest guest
to hear that. If Krishna doesn't attract these people, what will?
Kulapavana
actually, people initialy are attracted (or repulsed) by the devotees. we all have a great responsibility to behave like real Vaishnavas...
theist
One way to see this is that there are only Vaisnava's existing in the world, or anywhere else, but are asleep to that reality of their own nature.
Guest guest
Srila Prabhupadas mission, according to him, is successful if he makes only one vaisnava. Is there one????? mahak
Kulapavana
"Srila Prabhupadas mission, according to him, is successful if he makes only one vaisnava. Is there one?????" do you doubt it? SP was extremely successful and he made many, many pure Vaishnavas.
Guest guest
and a Vaisnava is ? well they are not Vaisnava Praya-almost like Vaisnava, the Vaisnava is the well wisher of everyone, the real deal and they certainly do exist at any given time through out history even as we contemplate the meaning and consenquences of living ones life in the endeavour. Kulapavana
"and a Vaisnava is?" one who truly has surrendered to Lord Vishnu. Don't be too quick in your negative judgement. you know what they say: "it takes one, to know one"...
theist
by Srila Sarasvati Gosvami http://www.bvml.org/SBSST/vraa.htm Real Vaishnavism The word 'Vaishnavism' indicates the normal, eternal and natural condition, functions and devotional characteristics of all individual souls in relation to Vishnu, the Supreme, the All-per- vading Soul. But such an unnatural, unpleasant and regrettable sense has been attributed to the word as to naturally make one understand by the word, Vaishnava (literally a pure and self- less worshipper of Vishnu), a human form with twelve peculiar signs (Tilaka) and dress on, worshipping many gods under the garb of a particular God and hating another human form who marks himself with different signs, puts on a different dress and worships a different God in a different way as is the case with the words 'Shaiva', 'Shakta', 'Ganapatya', 'Jaina', 'Buddhist', 'Mohammedan', 'Christian' etc. This is the most unnatural, unpleasant and regrettable sense of the word, 'Vaishnava', which literally and naturally means one who worships Vishnu out of pure love expecting nothing from Him in return. AncientMariner
That is why Prabhupada has always kept my respect even though I have heard many Vaisnavas that hate Christians and Christianity. Prabhupada said in some quotes that there is no conflict between Christianity and Vaisnavism its just people invent their own conflicts or something like that. theist
I know that quote. Sectarianism is always present in this world. Even among Gaudiya Vaisnavas camps this enmity exists.
Guest guest
we hope the world gets up and chants the holy names of the lord .....kali does not win remember that. the more people chanting causes that quantum leap of faith that all is not lost for the chanters.
