Sadartha
I have heard a lot about self-realization. but what is the "Self" in 'Self-realization'? Thank You Om Namah Shivaya
Guest guest
You are the self in self realization. How could the self be something outside of you? But this is where some schools depart. The theistic Vaisnava schools I believe to be most persuasive. While we as individual selves come to know ourselves as individuals with our unique own sense of 'I am' they realize that even beyond basic self realization there lies God realization which is realization of the Superself. The Soul of all souls, the Self of all selfs. Vaisnavas explain that we are one with this Supreme all-pervasive and Supreme Being and at the same time different. Our unity with Him is complete and through that unity with him we have a unity with all other living beings.
