Pankaja_Dasa
This talk is about the 400,000 species of human beings. Lectures & Classes Philosophy Discussions Charles Darwin, Karandhara: So is the primary factor of the variation is how much advanced they are in Krsna consciousness, and how least advanced they are in Krsna consciousness? Prabhupada: Yes. Yes. Syamasundara: So there are only two species. Karandhara: The demons and the devas. Prabhupada: This consciousness is coming through so many species, animals, then they’re trees, they have no consciousness, but there is living…, the soul is there. Syamasundara: I’m still trying to understand what you mean by the species of human life. It’s not clear to me. I don’t understand what you mean by the different species of human life. Prabhupada: By culture....... Syamasundara: They also say their bodies are different, Negroid bodies or Caucasian bodies, or Oriental bodies… Prabhupäda: Then you can say species. Species and the different bodies. Syamasundara: Species means different bodies. too Prabhupäda: Yes. ____Vedabase_______
Kulapavana
on Earth there are currently several human species in the Vedic sense. the rest of them live in other realms of existence. as to the definition of species I dont know of any hard quotes, but race is definitely a factor, so is the culture, in a very broad sense. Pankaja_Dasa
Let's just talk about the ones that live in this exsistance.! I think Prabhupada was making the point that human species is specifically defined by how far advanced he is in Krsna Consciosuness.
Kulapavana
vedic species relates to forms of BODY (composition within modes of nature). the relation to KC is only very indirect.
Pankaja_Dasa
Prabhupada says 'By Culture'. Prabhupada says Scientists understand human species in a whole different way, they consider it to be one species. By Culture means I feel how far your consciousness have evolved. Kulapavana
the species are grouped by guna and karma. guna is the link to consciousness.
Pankaja_Dasa
This is what science doesn't say really. The link in consciousness. According to Natures laws. It defines how a person acts [such as a dog barks].
