Ekadasa bhava and siddha pranali are not mentioned in any of the books of the Six Goswamis or in Caitanya Caritamrta, Caitanya Bhagavata, Caitanya Mangala, the writings of Ramananda Raya or any other (authentic) writings of the direct associates of Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu. The Radha Kunda Babajis like to tell us that in the writings of Gopala Guru Goswami and Dhyanacandra Goswami, the statements about mental worship of Sri Guru, in which it is recommended that a disciple meditate on one's Guru as a Manjari, is a description of Siddha Pranali. Additionally, it is said that there is some reference in a book about Gopala Bhatta Goswami and his disciple Srinivasacarya in which Gopala Bhatta Goswami tells Srinivasa about his divine form (manjari svarupa). But again, this is something quite different from the modern practice of giving siddha pranali and ekadasa bhava such as we find described in Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura's writings. Givine that Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura later on rejected his Guru, Vipina Vihari Goswami, and moreover that Vipina Vihari Goswami also wrote in a book that he rejected Srila Bhaktivinoda Thakura, and that Sri Bhakti Siddhanta Saraswati Thakura said this modern practice of unqualified gurus giving ekadasa bhava to unqualified disciples is useless, the whole issue is a moot point.

Hare Krishna and thanks for your response!

is there not mention in writings of the 6 goswamis that one should internally meditate on the kunja-lila of Shri Krishna with the bhava of a manjari? and how is this different from what is now called ekadasa bhava?

thank you so much :)

Haribol!

Krishnadasa Kaviraja Goswami writes ataeva gopibhava kari angikara ratri-dine cinte Radha-Krishnera vihara siddha-deha cinti kare tahai sevana sakhi-bhave paya Radha-Krishnera carana.

Ekadasa bhaava means Gopi bhaava. So it IS mentioned by the Goswamis and it IS very much a part of raganuga sadhana, as all Gaudiya Vaishnavas have known for centuries.

Ask bengali vaishnava, except a member of Gaudiya Math and ISKCON, if ekadasa bhaava is given in his parampara and he will undoubtedly say yes!

GOpala Guru Goswami was actually a direct associate of Caitanya, and he was given the task to write about what ataeva gopibhava kari angikara means in detail.
