Guest guest
I read one of your emails commenting on the dauntingness of learning such a long work like the Chandi. If I can do it, you can do it. My advice is the same I'm giving myself, just start. It's broken into chapters and so, go with whatever chapter is the easiest to learn. If you learn the short chapters first, then you will have 1/3 of the chapters done and then your hooked. It's overwhleming for me too, but trick your mind into thinking it's not long. I took out my Opera scores and said, "Well, if I can learn all that, then I can do this too." With your astrological placements, you can do it, believe me. We are similar in learning, enthusiasm and engagement, so I think you are going to do just fine. I think we should see who can learn it first??? Just a playful way of getting it done and then we can work on memorizing it:) What do you think? Guest guest
Kelly, First of all, I have to buy the Chandi book & tapes! This I will do soon -- I want more Shree Maa video tapes. I just watched one with Swami Satyananda performing puja in India with the Jyoti Lingams. That scene of Swami in the cremation grounds by the Ganges (Benares?) was soooo vivid -- I swear I could feel the heat from the flames and smell the smoke. Very powerful stuff even though my head doesn't understand it! I'm working on some other chants right now -- someone brought up the Sri Suktam (which Sri Karumamayi blessed for me). I have her chanting tapes. I started learning this before but was distracted. I want to finish learning that first. Something that scared me about the Chandi is that it stirs up a lot of negative karma if you attempt it without the blessings of the Guru. I'm already going thru my Sade Sati right now and have enough negative karma to deal with at the moment. I really love the energy from the Guru Gita. I have used it since leaving Siddha Yoga, but the Guru Gita tapes I have, are made by SYDA and bring up a lot of memories. It would be nice if someone else (outside Siddha Yoga) would make a Guru Gita tape. Guest guest
You don't have to learn the Chandi... No pressure here. I just thought you might have been intested. Learning the intonations is tricky, but I'm keeping an open mind about it. Trying not to get stuck in right and wrong ways of doing it. I got picked for a trial at Jury Duty. 7 days at least 10 at the most. It's nice to listen to Maa at lunch instead of the busy chatter. Now I understand what you mean by Sade Sati. I start my Jupiter Dasa in April and I'm sooo ready. Rahu was something else. If your doing these chants you've got it going on! Listening to Maa chant this evening while making dhal.... I accidently thought the cayenne was tumeric. Oooops. Looks like I'll be eating hot dhal tonight. Guest guest
Kelly, I would like to learn the Chandi and will definitely read it. But the Chandi is still daunting to me. I believe you understand the gist of what I'm saying. The Sade Sati is not the same thing as a dasha. The effect of a particular planetary dasha depends on the quality of that planet in your chart. If your a planet is fallen or badly aspected in the natal chart, that planetary period can be rough. Cayenne is good for you!
