On the Lakshmi Chant

Hi Sarada,

I certainly can't answer these questions for anyone else.

I worship Lakshmi because she rules Venus and Venus rules my Vedic

chart.

 

I did eleven repetitions of the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam today. The

energy from this chant is so lovely. I feel lighter, happier after I

do this chant. It's a very powerful chant.

 

Back in 1991, I received initiation into this chant from Gurumayi (at

the Siddha Yoga Ashram in South Fallsburg, NY). It cost me about

$250, as I recall. I can't remember the exact dollar amount, it may

have been more. After this, I chanted the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam at

least three times a day. Within six months, I received over $80,000

from completely unexpected sources. It was really weird. Most people

would dismiss this as a coincidence.

 

There was a period many years ago when I would do several repetitions

of the Mahalakshmi Ashtakam combined with a few repetitions of the

Guru Gita everyday. So much energy was built up by these chants, that

I began to experience odd phenomena: I would walk by the refrigerator

and the magnets would fall off. A fork and spoon left out on the

kitchen counter (my Lakshmi altar was in the breakfast nook -- at

that time) were bent by the chanting energy. The tines of the fork

started to curl and the spoon bent. (This had NOTHING to do with me,

I never touched the fork & spoon). I started to experience "Blue

Light" flashes. It's as if someone let a blue flashbulb off behind me

and everything around me would turn blue. (I learned later this is

the color of the etheric light.) This is when I became very afraid

and left off chanting so much. The phenomena went away with the

decrease in chanting.
