Guest guest
Jai Maa, Mother Kali was the only "God" I knew as a child as She was the center of our altar at home in India. I never thought it was odd that She wore a skirt of human hands, was garlanded with human heads, or that she stood on Shiva's chest. It was not until I read the "Kali Puja" that I understood the symbolism asociated with her form. The book contains Ramakrishna's favorite "Adya Stotram," or Song of the Foremost (Kali as the Supreme Divinity). I long for the day to get darshan of the Kali at Dakineshwar, where the great mystic and saint Ramakrishna worshipped Her. Jai Kali!
Guest guest
Namaste All: Maa is the All in All in my heart. I'm proud to be a "Mama's Boy!" For one who came out of the "rat race" and tried every way to manipulate "Mother Nature," It's an incredibly blissful feeling to be worshipping Her instead of trying to conquer Her and Her wonderous creation we are living through. I always feel Her love with and within me. Whether she rewrds or censures me, I know that it's for my good and to aid in my journey across the ocean of life. She is my Mother. A Mother's love can never be matched or overpowered. Shree Maa had blessed me by instruciting me to recite The Adya Stotram 2 to 3 months back and I have been devotedly doing so every morning since. I am now to the point in my life where my day can not begin unless I recite The Song of The Foremost.(Thank you Swami ji for such an incredible translation! I am eternally grateful to you and Shree Maa for this Cosmic Blessing!) When I allow my self the time, the simple thought of Her or singing to Her brings instant tears to my eyes. When I read of the priceless gems written by either Ramprasad or quotes of Sri Ramakrishna, my heart fills with the boundless amounts of joy that I struggle to come back to more naturally as each day passes. I can not wait for Kali Puja this year particularly. I constantly pray for Her Guidance throughout eternity and pray to remain a most loyal and loving Devotee to Her. By the way, is there a special puja this weekend for Maa on Friday or will it be observed on Saturday? Finally, I too, long for my first trip to Dakshineshwar. One prized jewel I recieved from my parents was the attached jpeg of Maa from the Temple. Enjoy!!! Also, I dont know if this is very common or passe, but my favorite chocolate to offer her during pujas is a Hershey's Kiss. It's packed with a big Hug and a Kiss and It contains her name twice(Her and She = Hershey's) " The perfect Double Femiine Chocolate of the Foremost!: lots of love and Blessings, Ree - "aseemananda2003" <aseemananda2003 <> Saturday, October 18, 2003 5:49 PM Kali > Jai Maa, > > Mother Kali was the only "God" I knew as a child as She was the > center of our altar at home in India.
