Guest guest
It really is powerful. Everything associated with the Chandi has such great power and Maa has said to us many times that She is Chandi. I would say that the more you listen to it in any situation the better. It will drench your your soul with the purity of Her Mantras. Guest guest
I too get the most cozy calm feeling when listening to Maa's voice. I put my CD on repeat as I fall asleep. If there was the ultimate in lullaby, it's her voice. I am curious as to which chant you liked that put you in this place. Is the Chandi the only work of Shree Maa that has no music in the background? My personal taste in chant, both eastern and western indian, is when there is no background music, just the voice. Someone mentioned Maa is frail. She is not planning to leave her body is she? I'm planning some time to visit the ashram in the first part of 2004. I don't want to miss out on Her darshan. Guest guest
Jai Maa, I agree that a recording of chanting sounds best with no background music. Background music creates a different bhava, especially with Maa. Unfortunately the Chandi mp3 is the only released recording of Her without background music, but there has been talk of recording Maa chanting the entire Chandi Path alone or with just a tambora. Hearing Maa chant with the tambora is completely awe-inspiring. There is an album called "The Goddess is everywhere" that has Maa singing alone with just a tabla player. There is also Maa chanting the Narvarna Mantra and Gayatri Mantra which is just Her with a tambora. http://www.shreemaa.org/audio.htm Maa is thin because She spent many years in Samadhi without any food but I think that She will be with us for awhile. Guest guest
Namaste, I just joined this group and I am so glad to read that other people are having similar experiences with the Chandi. I first came to know of the Chandi when I saw Shree Maa and Swamiji on one of their U.S. tours. Hearing Her chanting and singing completely changed my whole spiritual life. I wish that I had words to describe how pure Her voice is. She is truly the embodiment of the Mother of the Universe. The Siddha Kunjika Stotram on the Chandi mp3 is my favorite and I can't go a day without hearing it at least once. It has become my spiritual food. Those who live with Her at Her Ashram are so blessed to have Her regular darshan. I long for the day when I can see Her again. Jai Maa.
