Guest guest
Gu means darkness and ru means to take away. Guru takes away the darkness. Kali also takes away darkness. In the Guru Gita by Swami Satya Nanda, verse 32 it says: The Guru is Brahmaa, the Guru is Vishnu, the Guru is Lord Mahesvara. The Guru is actually the Supreme Divinity and therefore, we bow down to the respected Guru. In essence the Guru and Kali are one and the same. Both perform the same functions as the Supreme Divinity. In one way or another all of the Gods and Goddessess take away darkness. Call her Saraswati who gives us wisdom. With wisdom we cut down the darkness of ignorance. Call her Durga. When we are relieved of a difficulty we feel lighter and brighter. It has been my experience and priviledge to experience Kali's sword of wisdom through my gurus Supreme devotion and intuitive eyes. The Guru, as the Supreme Divinity, is able to poke those asuras, all those egotisitical thoughts, that are hiding in dark spaces that we can not see and bring them to light. Is this not the blessing of Maha Kali? For in that vacant space there is more room for light. And the process continues... On a practical level if one is not able to be around a true Guru then the next best way to learn more about Kali is by reciting her mantras and studying the Kali Puja Book written, transliterated and translated by Swami Satyananda Saraswati available through the shreemaa.org website. The Kali puja book contains the armor of Kali, the Adya Strotam (the song of the foremost and the stotram which grants the strength of Vishnu and takes away fear), 108 names and the 1000 names of Kali are also included. There is also special puja in the back on how to bring a spiritual child into the world. Also, listening to Shree Maa sing the 1000 names of Kali takes one beyond the mind deep into the heart of Mother Kali. If you haven't heard this amazing CD or tape it is very highly recommended and is also available on the website. God bless you all with peace and light. Allow me to share a verse which I constantly carry as a point of focus- Shree Maa You are Kali You are Swamiji too, Durga, Lakshmi, Saraswati They all look as You. At the Respected Feet of my Beloved Guru. , "parvati_saraswati" <parvati_saraswati> wrote: > Gu means darkness and ru means to take away.
