Guest guest
One of Sarada's questions was: What is the origin of Kali? In the Chandi the origin of Kali is described. First and foremost of all causes is the Great Goddess of True Wealth, Maha Lakshmi, who is comprised of the three qualitiies. Her intrinsic nature is both definable and undefinable. She distinguished the individual phenomena of the universe. She filled the nothingness with her radiant light. Seeing the entire Nothingness, the Supreme Sovereign, by t he quality of darkness, assumed another excellent form. That form became radiant and black like soot. In h er four hands she displayed the sword, t he drinking cup, a severed h ead, and a shield, and a garland of skulls around her neck. That manifestation of Darkness asked the Great Goddess of True Wealth to give her her names and actions to perform. So the Great Goddess of True Wealth called the Excellent Goddess o f Darkness by many names. The Great Measurement of Consciousness, the Great Remover of Darkness, the Great Destroyer of Hunger, Thirst, Sleep, Desire, Solely attentive to the Battle, the Dark Night, the Impassable. These names are an indication of the actions to be performed by the Great Remover of Darkness and one who meditates on these names and understands these actions attains to great happiness. Guest guest
93 namaste all actually it is improper to speak about origin of Kali, who is the supreme and absolute, Kalasankarshini. in your explanation you mix things lol. first was Mahakali to appear in SriChandi, that is why the 1st charitra is connected with Her. Mahalaxmi came after. then, that form you mention is partly aspect of Bhadrakali aka Pratyangira. it is different from Mahakali - one of the three - and from Adya- or Para-Kali, who is above all. Mahakali is jnana-shakti of Adya-Kali so to say. Herself Kali [ultimate, no matter what name is given] is same as Parashakti, and in krama-naya She is Anuttara itself. don't mix forms in such a way, it will lead ppl into confusion... krIm hUm trAm LOVE A. , "parvati_saraswati" <parvati_saraswati> wrote: > One of Sarada's questions was: What is the origin of Kali? > > In the Chandi the origin of Kali is described. > First and foremost of all causes is the Great Goddess of True > Wealth, Maha Lakshmi, who is comprised of the three > qualitiies. Guest guest
Dear Arjuna, The explanation given by Parvati Ma on the origin of Kali is taken directly from the Chandi. Mahalaksmi is the One who splits Herself into three: Mahakali, Mahalaksmi and Mahasaraswati.
