Guest guest
I gathered two points about you - 1) you are a rebirther 2) you like to look at Guru/God more as a friend. I saw these lines in the Rudrashtadhyayi (Chapter 8 -Chamakam - Verse 28 , translated by Swami Satyananda Saraswati) and immediately thought about you. It may even sound a bit corny - to tie "Rebirth" from the verse to the rebirth process, but just thought you'd be interested to know, if you dont already. (IMHO, you should say these lines before you start to add more power to the rebirthing process - that's just my opinion. You should ask Swamiji. ) "Vajaya Svaha ......prajanam Tva-dhipatyaaya" "To the Power, I am one with God ! To the Delight of Pursuit, I am one with God! To Rebirth, I am one with God! To Efficiency, I am one with God! To the treasure of Bliss, I am one with God! To the Lord of Day and Night, I am one with God. To the Days of Ignorance, I am one with God. To the disappearance of Ignorance, I am one with God ! To the ones who finish their earthly concepts, I am one with God! To the Lord of Being, I am one with God ! To the Supreme Lord, I am one with God ! To the Lord of Creation, I am one with God ! We give our all to you, to our delighted Friend. You are the Guiding Controller of the Power of Life. You are the showering down of creation, you are all created beings, you are the Supreme Lord of All"
Guest guest
Latha Nanda, Thank you for that. I'm so glad that came across your path so you could point that out. These are the affirmations to one degree or another that Rebirthers do use when doing rebirthing or any spiritual practice. They are very Truth aligned meaning that if something is not in aligment with Truth it's discarded. I would love to know the sanskrit of these statements, so I will get that CD or book. Does the whole of Rudrashtadhyayai see God or Guru as friend? Thanks Latha Nanda. Namaste. Guest guest
Namaste Kelly, The specific reference to God as a friend is in the line in my first post "We give our all to you, to our delighted Friend ". Otherwise, Chapter 5 (Namakam) is a joyous proclamation - "Wherever I look , I see you God and bow down to you. " Chapter 5 threads together various different unconnected (in my mind) objects and says "I see you in these and I bow down to you" Just to give you an idea of the disparate objects ... I bow to he "who is in the desert, who roams on distant paths, who raises his voice in excitement, who is always helpful, who is in green vegetation, who stretches the bow string, who is in foam or froth ...." When I read chapter 5, I am reminded of a great soul, who went hugging everything in sight because they all were "Mother" to her. The Rudrashtadhyayi is a personal favorite - last night I read it more closely to see if God was referred to as a friend anywhere else. Thank you for giving me that motivation. Namo vrddhaaya ca savrdhe ca We bow to he who is with those who continue to grow and who is with those who inspire growth. Guest guest
I have a feeling I am really going to like this book. When I read the words it makes my heart flutter. Simplicity moves me. I'm glad my question inspired you to read it again and didn't upset you:) The soul that hugged everything because they were Mother to her. It's amazing how beautiful life can be when we stay in a place like that, if we practice that sadhana. If I am low, my dog will instinctively know and come hop on my chest (she's tiny) as if she is making me all better and then I hug and love her as she reminds me of my Mother when she consoles me. I look in her eye's and smile because She is in there too. Who am I to make a difference? and then I let my dog be God and learn from her. When we allow Maa to come thru all life we can learn so much. When my nephew was 3-4 we would stand him up on the coffee table and say, "tell us about God Johnny. Do you remember God before going into Mama's belly?" and then he would talk about God, how God sounded, what God said and we would listen in awe to his story. He was very sincere about what he remembered. I love learning from children and animals and nature. They are without guile and very simple. I'm going to like this book. Thank you! Namaste. Guest guest
Namaste Kelly, I am so happy - hope you get a lot of value from the book as you dig deeper and deeper into the meaning , and can share your insights with us. Who knows - God willing, we can chant the book together one day. That will be fun.
