Guest guest
Namaste All, This is another attempt at a post that I put a few days ago. I am on this journey - doing Sadhana. I have the commitment to stay on the path, and now I want to know how I can make the staying more easier, more pleasant, more efficient, more ..... you get the idea. You are all fellow travellers doing sadhana in one way or another. The practices may be different but challenges are similar. I would be very interested to get your feedback on - what got you started in Sadhana, what IS your sadhana and what are the little pointers that you learned on the way. Can you share any tips that makes it easier/interesting/inspirational. To quote (or misquote ) Nitya's verse on Rumi - can you be the human through whom grace flowed into me. (I promise to mention your name with gratitude when I write my autobiography) Thank you Love Latha
Guest guest
Namaste Latha, I pray that this contribution would be of some small help. Apologies if I seem to go on too long. On my second visit to a spiritual group in my hometown some years ago, a discourse was given on the Goddess Kali, that was the start to this soul's Sadhana. Up to that time, I knew absolutely nothing of puja or Eastern teachings but I got hold of a photo of the Goddess with which I laughed, cried and talked to, talked, shared experiences with, prayed and sang to. She just made me feel good ... great as a matter of fact. Time passed the feeling grew and I prayed to find more of the Goddess. ...... I met my Gurujis and everything that I was feeling all those years melted the night I walked into their temple. Never, ever did I know that love which engulfed me at that moment. A love which led me to define my goal. So in my room at home, you will find a pictures of my Guru, I see my Guru last at night as I give thanks for the day just ended and ask to be awakened in the right timing to perform worship. Then first on morning as I give thanks for awakening me (anytime between 3-4.00 at times I say "Mother, just another bit longer). Focussing on my Guru keeps me in tune with my goal. There is a CD sung by Goddess Mother Shree Maa of the Devi Mandir - "In the temple of the Heart" which gets me started, my favourites are #2,3,8,10,13. {Satsanga is very important to my sadhana. I also enjoy reading spiritual books/materials}. Most things are set from the night before, daily, after preparing the body, the 5 articles are collected, garland(s) made (if needed), then worship commences until about 6:30-6.45a.m. then in the evening hours. Having said all this, my asan is nowhere near being perfect, at times I fidget more than other times and my concentration wanes, but the Goddess soon brings back the consciousness to Her even if in the form of and old lady running with a flower in hand. When the mind seems troubled, I offer the troubles at the feet of Guru and offer the person(s) in the ocean of Divine Love. When in need of inspiration, I write a personal note to Gurujis and a simple response like "we send you love and blessings" takes this soul to newer heights. Being a receipient of Pure Love, a love that seeks no reward other than purity of heart, I WILL ATTAIN MY GOAL. --- Latha, may Mother's love guide you in your search. Guest guest
Namaste Kaliananda, Thank you for your satsangha. A great soul once said , "Whenever devotees meet and talk (about him), this one is there" . I read your post and I got some practical tips - Focus on the Guru to keep in tune with the goal, prepare in advance for Puja, building on the intent and the sadhana will flow ( important to pray, perfection in asan will happen over time ). Thank you for your tips. Thank you for sharing your story on what got you started in your Sadhana. You say that all you want is 'a love that seeks no reward other than purity of heart'. Wonder how such gentle soul got the name of our Fierce Mother Kali. You will be mentioned in my book too :-) Hope to meet you at the Mandir someday. Jai Maa. Guest guest
Namaste Latha, Hope to meet you also. Just one small point, like this illusory world, Goddess Kali is perceived by many as being fierce, I have never found her to be that way. This article is worthy of note http://www.shreemaa.org/article21.htm. Enjoy. Kali , "Latha Nanda" <lathananda> wrote: > Namaste Kaliananda, > > Thank you for your satsangha.
