Tools for making a rudraksha mala

Hi Aseemananda!

The only rudraksha beading kit I've seen on the Net:

http://www.rudraksha-ratna.com/htm/beadingkit.htm

Cost is $145 which does NOT include shipping.

This contains everything (including tools), but probably would only

interest someone who wants to make several malas.

Caveats for anyone doing business with www.rudraksha-ratna.com:

They have the worst commercial website (user-UNfriendly) I've ever

seen. They say they're working on it, but they've been working on it

for at least a year (since I first discovered them) and it's still

terrible. I finally had to email my order in.

It took them over a week to get back to me with the shipping charges.

When they informed me of the shipping charges, it was NOT ONLY almost

three (3) times the original estimate ( $55, instead of $20 from

India), but they had already shipped the package FedEx without

informing me of the cost or method. This gave me no chance to cancel

the order or to choose a less costly shipping method. I was angry!

But they explained that sending by a slower method would not have

saved much money. They did not address my point that this is NOT the

way business should be done. The customer needs to agree to the

shipping method & costs BEFORE shipment.

I am hoping that the quality of their items justify the $55 shipping

fee (they have bargain prices on most things). I will report on that.

(I have to make a point to be available tomorrow morning, when Fedex

tries to re-deliver.)

FedEx from Mumbai, India is fast (2 days). Shipped out on Saturday

morning, on my front door Monday morning!

They have good quality beads, at least they did when I met them (I was

the first to meet Dharma Dev in person when he was just Kevin). I've

found better in Haridwar and Rishikesh for better prices though.

Namaste ALL esp Astraea,

Rudraksha discussions prompted the reposting of Astraea's post from

last year. Maybe an update might be provided?

Namaste,

Karen
