Guest guest
It seems very clear to me that you did the right thing. If Maa had wanted you to come and cook her breakfast, she would have said so. Others can do that service. She specifically told you that she wanted you to attend the Sundar Kand. Isn't the Sundar Kand wonderful? Of course, I have only participated in the SK with Maa and Swamiji and the family. (or alone at home) I love it ... especially with the Rama Samputs. Ardis "Latha Nanda" <lathananda > Mon, 10 Nov 2003 07:58:20 -0000 Guru's desire Vs Your will Dear All, This is something that happened to me this weekend . I will give you a brief sketch and ask this question ' What would you have done if you were I and why ' ? I am at peace with the decision that I took , still this makes for some interesting debate. For those of you that know me personally, you know that for the last few Sundays I come to the Mandir and have volunteered to cook breakfast for Maa and Swamiji. I am so honored to be blessed to cook for them. I was working this late this Saturday but had every intention of going in to the Mandir on Sunday morning ( I live 100 miles and 2 hrs away). I got a message from one of Maa's devotees that She wanted me to attend a Sunderkhand recital this Sunday at one of her devotees house that live very near to me. The program was scheduled at 10 am. I saw 3 options - go by my plan (Mandir/breakfast), go by Maa's plan (Sunderkhand), do both (involving getting up very early and leaving a cold breakfast for Maa, and potentially being late for the Sunderkhand) . I wanted very much to do option 3, but getting up early ( I thought of what you said Kelly and tried to cry and move the energy, but I just went back to the blissful womb of sleep) . Anyways, long story short , I went for the Sunderkhand. What would you have done in my place ? Can other devotees share similar stories of their experiences - their's vs the Guru's will and what they decided ? Thanks all, Love Latha Sponsor Terms of Service <> . Guest guest
I read that you fell back asleep. That was funny... keep trying:) haha.... You don't have to really... Well, I would have called Maa to ask her if she wanted me to still come and cook her breakfast, and if she wanted me to do both, I would have rented a room close by to cook them breakfast. I always ask for clarification. Can you tell from my emails? I'm very long winded. Well, as far as things my Satguru, Babaji has told me, I will share this in the lighthearted context of what you are asking. After doing lots of sadhana and having certain experiences not knowing at all what they were called, but knowing they blew my mind, I found myself in a state of despair. Worldly expectations were coming in hard and I wanted to renounce, but had no friends who had been to India so I had no idea how to even do what I thought I wanted. I cried hard for 2 days praying to Babaji for assistance to show me the way. He is very simple. I cried myself to sleep on my bed and He came to me in a dream. He had the most intense look on his face ready to stike. He walked right over to me, stopped, pointed his finger at me and scolded, "You are no different than Me! BE THAT!" I awoke crying and amazed Babaji had come to me in my dream. I ranted and raved, "How dare you tell me I am no different than you! Are you Crazy? I am not an avatar! You're the avatar!" I was amazed he said that to me. It's an odd feeling to have the Guru scold in a positive, but for my mind to comprehend his attainment, I feel I am lifetimes away. How his direction is supposed to be acted upon has got me. So, in one way he has asked only one thing of me and that is to BE THAT, so that is a large part of my sadhana, to BE. Now, the Guru who is in physical form, I have disobeyed him. He forgives me though, as he is very forgiving. I am not an easy disciple. I always know the intents of people by dreams and my Guru in this form will come to me only to be sweet and devotional. So it's nice to have a Guru who is always sweet and it's nice to have a Satguru who scolds. Guru has to do both in my book, that is why God gave me both. We are going to try our best and that is all that is expected of us from our Guru's. Each persons' best will fluctuate and time management is important. Effeciency wouldn't exist without Time. We are in a physical body and unless you've mastered the siddha of being at two places at once, I think your doing fine. You did what Maa told you to do. I think the fact that you gave it so much thought is endearing:) Namaste, Kelly Latha Nanda <lathananda > wrote: Dear All,This is something that happened to me this weekend . Guest guest
Namaste All! The best bet is always following Maa's instructions to the letter. Maa seems to know what is going to happen, and how it will happen, even when we don't. Is'nt it interesting how that works? The Sundar Khand is truly wonderful ! You are so blessed to be able to cook for Maa and Swami Ji. All the best!!
