Guest guest
I read that Shiva Puja is always and only done to the lingam, never to the murti. Is that so? Thanks for an answer. A
Guest guest
My wife performs the beginner puja to me every Sunday as a repitition of our vows (I do beginner Durga Puja to her as well). I think its okay to do Shiva Puja to a lingam, a Murti, a person or to a picture of anyone who represents Shiva to you. Guest guest
We can worship anything that allows us to focus our minds on divinity. The whole idea is to become focused on one thing that we enter Samadhi and then the object that brought us there isn't so important. One on my dreams in life is to do a full Ganesh Puja to a live elephant and receive a blessing. After that maybe I will perform the Singha Puja (worship of Durga's lion) to a real lion and make it sit still for a few hours while I do the Puja. Well, maybe some day. , Brian T McKee <brian@s...> wrote: > My wife performs the beginner puja to me every Sunday as a repitition of our vows (I do beginner Durga Puja to her as well). Guest guest
People do! In Robert Svoboda's book, "At the Left Hand of God," His Guru Vimalananda said that he would go to the zoo and through some tantric technique invoke the personality of Ganesh in an elephant and then do Puja. It sounded great. If I remember correctly he called the technique avishkara. If we can worship Ganesh in a clay image than how much more powerful it must be in a real elephant. You would have to have real faith to try it on the lion. Guest guest
The puja of Shiva is usually done to a lingam or murti from my experience, but I am lovin it when the alter gets expanded! I think looking for Shiva or Shakti within All is a great puja. I don't see any reason for a limit here and Brian and his wife and very lucky to have the desire to want to worship eachother this way. It's truely lovely. Guest guest
I completely support this desire. I would love to be there! Please invite me. I think it's totally doable. Make some friends at the circus and it should be easy. Your near Six Flags arent you? Once you make a connection with an owner, he will be so amazed you want to worship his pet. It will be in the news, you can bet on it. I bet if you made a few calls, you'd get the connections. Jai Maa and please invite me... Guest guest
I have quite a few Shiva murties, several Shiva lingums, and a number of pictures of Shiva. I've pujaed to all of them. I've also done Shiva Puja to the sliver crescent moon. , "auxiliummeum" <auxiliummeum> wrote: > I read that Shiva Puja is always and only done to the lingam, never > to the murti. Was a real help I have the feeling that I'm relating more and more to Shree Maa, especially through CDs of her singing. There is a connection I can't quite label - it just feels right.
