Guest guest
I have a beautiful 1/2 lifesize murti of Shiva. I have worshiped it for 4 years. I love Shiva in that form dearly and see Shiva there when I perform puja. I see his eyes move and feel his love. I tend him as a real being. I also worship a lingam at Shree Maa's ashram and see Shiva there. I also close my eyes and perform puja inside my self and feel Shiva in me and all around me. I perform Shiva puja to experience the totality of Shiva in all living things, because he resides in all living things. As a beginner I find it easier to see and experience Shiva in consecrated objects, such as a lingam and murti. By his grace I know eventually I will see him everywhere. Try not to feel bound by concerns, but celebrate Shiva everywhere, in everything. If you continue to think that way, they reality will dawn in your awareness. So it has been for others before us, it will be for us. Jai Shiva Vishweshwar
Guest guest
Great points Vishweshwar, Remember, not even Brahma or Vishnu can see the end of Shiva's lingum! That means, he is everywhere, in everything, and in everyone. Namaste, Brian At 06:53 PM 11/14/2003, you wrote: >I have a beautiful 1/2 lifesize murti of Shiva. I have worshiped it >for 4 years. Guest guest
It means he is the axle of the universe and that all revolves around him. All hinges upon him. All that turns, turns upon him. Even Kali herself steps upon him. Guest guest
How beautiful! I also feel Shiva to be within and without. I have certain murtis and my own lingam to worship at home. The lingam appeared in my yard and I carried him in and washed him and did puja to him. I had many blissful days doing puja to the large outdoor lingam of Shiva at the DM. Before he arrived from India, I had a vision of Shiva walking down the hill to the exact spot where the lingam was installed and entering my body. The beginner's Shiva puja is so much a part of me. I have only done the advanced Shiva puja on special occasions. I just love the simplicity of the beginner's puja. But I also love the bhuta shuddhis. Guest guest
Hi Vish, I love your expression of how you worship Shiva. For me the most fulfilling part of worshipping Shiva is when I offer water. I feel as if I am connecting to the abstract form of the Divine when I pour water on the Shiva Lingam and recite the mantra associated with this offering. This is a daily early morning 'ritual' connects me to the Great Cosmic Power.
