Guest guest
Back on Friday November 11 I dug out a flat spot half way down the Napa river bank. I kept the loose soil in place by using my razor type scotter as a retainer. Then I sat for a Laksmi Puja, and things seem to have gone rather well, or at least to my liking. The anglers 10 yards to the south of me fished all day and only caught tiny stripers which the had to release back into the river. They got plenty of nibbles where the fish gingerly eat away their bait without any significant hook ups. On completing my puja I climbed up to the top of the river bank to sit with the fishermen. I told them that the fish must have spent so much time down a Stanford or even Harvard. I told them that the fish around here are getting too well educated to take the hook. All the strippers eat well and swam free that day and also on Saturday November 12. I may have nerver gotten through the DM gates on my trip north, but the Napa Library and river bank provided me plenty of fun. I scavenged some cans at the crossroads and in that process I found the out of season berry patch, the wine presses and that fine old winerun truck. Maybe its gas tank got stolen back in '23 and nobody thought to bother in updating its CA tags. It's a white, sahib.
Guest guest
That sounds like a lot of fun but did you know that it is illegal to excavate any land within 150 feet of a creek or river in Napa County, especially without a permit. You should have also gotten a permit for the retaining wall. Most fish in this area are rather smart but it was probably the presence of Lakshmi that kept them off the hook. , "rudran2" <stechiekov> wrote: > Back on Friday November 11 I dug out a flat spot half way down the > Napa river bank. Guest guest
Thanks I've learned something. After the puja I just lifted up my little push scotter. By that time all the soil held in place. This asan spot is no more than 1 square yard, in fact it is just enough to sit in swastic. My sitting place was just modified slightly and will probably go unoticed, especially now that the push scotter retainer is removed. Well maybe next time I could just sit up on the top of the river bank. I enjoyed the privacy half way down the bank. It is so gracious of Laksmi as a consort of Visnu to keep her own out of harms way. My only escavation tool was a small piece of driftwood. The little invocation to Saraswati in the puja must also have tuned the fish into outfoxing the fishermen. In the minds of some, all us ruskis are a bunch of hoods. More often than not the powers that be get disguested with us on minor infractions. They try to implicate us, but they really want to get us on something big. They generally overlook this little stuff in hopes of giving us more rope on which they hope to hang us later on. My whole life seems to be filling with metaphorical import. One such as me will surely perish from the face of the earth without puja. Again and again Puja keeps me as well as the fish alive. , "Sarada" <sarada_saraswati> wrote: > That sounds like a lot of fun but did you know that it is illegal to > excavate any land within 150 feet of a creek or river in Napa > County, especially without a permit.
