Guest guest
Namaste, I'm surprised now statues are drinking also. Last year I had gone to one Bhairava temple (Shiva 's Commander-in-chief) near Ajmer and as per tradition I offered raw alcohol and gulp it was gine in front of my eyes. any thought? DilipRaheja 1. Ganesha Drinking Milk Again, in Africahttp://www.mmegi.bw/2003/November/Monday10/20243234790.htmlBOTSWANA, AFRICA, November 9, 2003: As they went around the shrine, devotees whispered an invocation, prostrated to Lord Ganesha, poured milk into a spoon and placed it over His mouth. The milk disappeared. This was the scene at Maruapula Temple last Thursday when members of the Botswana Hindu Society in Gaborone went to feed milk to Ganesha, reports this article. The priest Subramaniam termed it a "miracle." People joined their Hindu friends to witness the event. "I came to see the God that drinks milk," said a British woman who preferred not to give her name. Among those who came to witness were ever-skeptical journalists. "Whatever is happening here? The milk just disappeared!" one of them exclaimed after Ganesha drank the spoonful of milk he offered. Subramaniam told a reporter he received a telephone call from India reporting a "miracle unravelling." The Hindu community started to light candles and lamps around the shrine, and fed milk to Ganesha. "It is happening all over the world. Lord Ganesha is drinking milk. You can go in and say your wish," Subramaniam told curious non-Hindu spectators. The last time Ganesha was observed drinking milk was in 1996. Millions of people offered milk at temples and homes and the milk disappeared upon being offered, according to many credible witnesses at the time. This one report from Botswana is all that HPI has received about the current miracle. Free Pop-Up Blocker - Get it now
Guest guest
Murties will drink milk, water, take baths, eat honey, ghee, yogurt, accept flowers and garlands. Some murties drink wine, both red for their cardiovascular health and white wine for respiratory health. I hope they have not taken up beer, vodka or whisky, but we are deep in kali yuga. I'm sure some other folk will have views to share on this topic. Just give it a day or two. , Dilip Raheja <ekanath> wrote: > Namaste, > > I'm surprised now statues are drinking also. Guest guest
Namaste Dilip, This is fascinating. I believe you. Can you give us a little more detail about your Bhairava temple experience? How much alcohol was given? How? Was it an unopened bottle? Or did you pour it out into a cup & then offer it? Thank you for sharing. I wonder if the reason my Ganesha mantras suddenly seem more powerful has any correlation to Lord Ganesha murtis drinking milk again. By that I mean, is Lord Ganesha's spirit somehow MORE PRESENT in the world at this time and therefore activating everything connected to him? It's possible. Guest guest
When I first started doing Durga puja, I totally believed that she would receive the offerings. But I was amazed that she actually received the milk and water physically. She also loved having her feet washed. She was very lively. I was thrilled. It hasn't happened in that direct a way in some time. I feel that She took the offerings to confirm my faith and devotion. As time went on, I did not need this confirmation. Love to all, Ardis astraea2003 <astraea2003 Nov 21, 2003 2:23 PM Re: Drinking statues? <html><body> <tt> Namaste Dilip,<BR> This is fascinating. I believe you.
